Throughout previous employment, Directors Kellie and Carol experienced the challenges of balancing work/life responsibilities with maintaining a successful career and decided that there must be a better way. In setting up AccountCom, they were determined to create a culture where success does not depend on your personal status, recognising that rigid working patterns do not always suit employees; and to achieve results in the most productive way possible, we needed to introduce flexible working arrangements.
Providing flexibility in the workplace allows the business to retain skills and experience that otherwise might have been lost. We believe that flexibility alleviates the pressures of balancing work, study and family commitments that could otherwise impact productivity and development; it also avoids staff feeling marginalised, isolated and discouraged due to their commitments outside of the workplace. To make this a successful work model, it required communication and commitment by both parties in conjunction with a strategic workflow system to meet statutory deadlines and exceed client expectations.
Our employees are praised for their teamwork and for their professionalism, and to Managements gratification, have often received thanks for going above and beyond to resolve an issue for a customer. Our customers also benefit from flexibility policies as our staff can meet their changing needs that require more mobility and availability outside of standard business hours.
Fostering a culture where employees can pursue their goals and expand their knowledge is not only beneficial to our clients, but to the growth to our business. AccountCom have experienced increased productivity and efficiency as a direct result of this policy with employees reporting higher levels of job satisfaction in recent surveys. Flexible working arrangements are a successful feature of our HR Policy at AccountCom.
